to PLACE, you collect if your horse finishes First or Second. And if you

You will usually collect more a on successful WIN bet than on a successful
SHOW bet.
EXACTA -
To win an exacta, you must select the horses that finish first AND second
on a single ticket. The two horses must finish in the exact order. Please
note that this race is also called a "perfecta" at some racetracks. Example:
Belmont, 3rd race, $2 exacta on #2-4
QUINELLA -
To win a quinella wager you must pick the first and second place finishers
in any order (if you play a 1-2 quinella, and the race finishes 1-2 OR
2-1, you are a winner, this bet is very similar to an exacta box, see
below, but usually has a lower pay out.) Example: Belmont, 3rd race, $2
quinella on #1-2
TRIFECTA -
To win a trifecta, you must select the horses that finish first, second
AND third in the exact order on a single ticket. Example: Belmont, 3rd
race, $3 trifecta #1-4-5.
SUPERFECTA -
To win a Superfecta, you must select the horses that finish first, second,
third AND fourth in the exact order on a single ticket. Example: Pimlico,
9th race, $3superfecta #6-2-5-1
DAILY DOUBLE -
To win a Daily Double, you must combine the winner of the first half with
the winner of the second half of the Daily Double on a single ticket.
This bet must be PURCHASED PRIOR TO THE FIRST DESIGNATED RACE OF THE DAILY
DOUBLE. Example: Belmont, $2 Daily Double #4-8
PICK THREE - s
To win the PICK THREE, you must select the first horse in each of the
three (3) designated PICK THREE races. If no one selects all three winners,
a pay-out is made to those selecting the highest number of winners If
no one selects a winner in any of the three (3) races the Association
shall refund the entire pool. Example: Laurel, $2 Pick THREE 6-1-7 Please
note this wager is also called the Daily Trifecta
PICK SIX -
The Pick-6 is similar to the Pick-3 except that you must select the winning
horse in six consecutive races on a single ticket. However, if no one
selects all six winning horses from the designated races on a single ticket
a portion of that days Pick-6 pool is distributed among the holders of
tickets with the most winning selections on a single ticket. The remaining
pool shall be "carried over" to the next racing day. The pool is continually
carried-over until such time that someone does correctly select the six
winning horses from the designated races on a single ticket. EXAMPLE:
Belmont, $1 Pick-6, #1-2-3-4-5-6.
TWIN TRIFECTA -
Give your selections for the 1st half of the Twin Trifecta to a mutuel
clerk. If you win the 1st half - EXCHANGE YOUR WINNING TICKET for wagers
on the 2nd half of the Twin Trifecta. At this time, you will collect your
share of the 50% pay-out.* If you win the 2nd half of the Twin Trifecta,
simply cash your ticket(s) for your share of the pool. In order to the
win the second half YOU MUST HAVE ALL THREE FINISHERS IN THE EXACT ORDER.
If there are no winners, the remaining pool will "carry-over" to the next
racing day.
EXACTA BOX
You can buy a two or more horse box for a base value from $2 to $250.
Example: $2 exacta box on the 1-2-3 costs $12. To win an exacta, your
selections must finish first and second in that order. By boxing two or
more horses, if your selection crosses the wire in whatever order, you're
a winner.
EXACTA PART WHEEL
EXAMPLE #1: If you think the #1 or #4 horse will finish first and the
#2 or #3 horse will finish second you would ask for a "$1 part wheel,
1-4 with 2-3. The cost of this bet would be $4 and will cover 4 different
combinations: 1-2,1-3,4-2,4-3.
TRIFECTA BOX
You can buy a three or more horse box for a base value of $1 to $250.

$2 trifecta price that is displayed on the tote board. In a trifecta,
your selections must finish first, second and third in that exact order.
By boxing three or more horses, if three of your selections cross the
wire first, second and third in whatever order, you are a winner.

will finish second and you wish to play 3 other horses with this combination
for third, you should ask for a "$1 [remember, the base price can go as
high as $250] part wheel, 1 with 2 with 3-4-5" The cost of this bet would
be $3, covering the following winning combinations: 1-2-3, 1-2-4 and 1-2-5.
EXAMPLE #2: If you think the #1 horse will finish first and the #2, 3
or 4 horses will finish second , and #2,3,4,5 or 6 will finish third,

cost of this bet would be $12 and will cover 12 different combinations:
1-2-3, 1-2-4, 1-2-5, 1-2-6, 1-3-2, 1-3-4, 1-3-5, 1-3-6, 1-4-2, 1-4-3,
